Collage of free stuff students have gotten at Amherst

Hi readers,

Are you wondering how to get your tuition’s worth in college? Look no further! I’m going to be telling you about all the free stuff you can get at Amherst once you become a student.

Food. As wonderful as Valentine Dining Hall is, you may be in the mood for some non-Val food. Lucky for you, Amherst Residential Engagement and Wellbeing have Free Food Truck Fridays once a month. I’ve gotten mac and cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, waffles on a stick, mozzarella sticks, fries, falafel, and more. Amherst students can also get a bunch of free food during club events, research presentations, and holiday celebrations. Don’t fact-check me, but I’m pretty sure students can get free food at least twice a week at Amherst through events. I’m always getting free boba, Insomnia cookies, and donuts at tabling events held right outside of my classes.

FREE STUFFED MAMMOTHS. Amherst has a build-your-own mammoth workshop every first week of the fall semester! I plan to continue going every year and grow my mammoth collection. There were also free stuffed mammoths at the Homecoming football game. Moreover, there were free stuffed mammoths at Family Weekend. My whole family took home some beautiful stuffies that day.

Trips. Clubs such as the Amherst College Outing Club host frequent trips such as paintball, hiking, and lake excursions. You can go skiing with the Skiing club, go horseback riding, and travel to Boston if you join the Amherst Debate Team. You can check the clubs at Amherst College on The Hub and find out all the cool things you can do as a student!

Clothes. Amherst has free clothing drives and campus yard sales a couple of times a year run by the Office of Sustainability! My friends scored Lululemon shorts, winter jackets, comforters, and Uggs from free clothing events. I found some cute jeans and butterfly wings for a Halloween costume at the last free clothing event, where there were 10,000 free articles of clothing.
