Hello Blogees! Let me update you on some of last weekend’s exciting events. My Friday began like any other day of the week, spending my day working at the admissions office with my fellow interns. In the afternoon, I gave one of my biggest tours this summer to visitors from around the world. They were eager to learn more about the college and had great questions, which I enjoyed because it gave me more to yap about. Then, I went to the gym briefly before hitting Val for dinner.

Entering Valentine, I was met with a refreshing blast of cool air, infused with the aroma of lemon chicken, fresh pizza, and vodka sauce. Dessert was apple crisp, which I would have happily indulged in if it hadn’t been for the highly anticipated s’mores event at Book and Plow Farm later that night. After sharing a nice meal with friends, I headed to the Greenway basketball courts.

My friends and I played for an hour or two as usual, and we got in some intense but good-natured scrimmaging under the court’s bright white lights, but my stomach was focused elsewhere. When we were done scrimmaging, I navigated the hiking trails in the Pioneer Valley area behind campus to arrive at a broad grass clearing surrounded by fields of fruit and vegetables and a hill that overlooked the town of Amherst. The bonfires were already burning, and the marshmallows were already melting. From sunset well into the night, almost 100 of us gathered around the fiery embers scattered across the field: eating s’mores, listening to live folk music, and recounting our recent summer adventures.
