Person smiling and gesturing towards a forest and river view.

Hi everyone! My name is Amazing and I’m a freshman in the Class of 2029, and an international student from London, England! I’m a prospective LJST major (Law, Jurisprudence and Social Thought) and thinking about double majoring in either English or Economics (or maybe something completely different, we’ll have to see how the next few years go!)

On campus, I’m part of DASAC (Dance and Step Amherst College) where I’m currently doing rehearsals twice a week in preparation for our performance in December! I’m also on the E-Board of the Black Student Union as the First Year Liaison, African Caribbean Students Union, Black Pre-Law Society and the Outing Club! The picture above is actually from a mushroom foraging trip the Outing Club ran! I also work at the Science Centre on Campus. I’m a Meiklejohn Fellow, a career program ran by the Loeb Center for FGLI (first generation-low income) students.

A fun fact about me is that I love to consume media, whether that be films, TV shows, books, articles, video essays and blogs, which drew me towards taking part in it myself through admissions blogging. I found the admissions blogs as one of the best ways to get a feel of Amherst while being over 5000 kilometers away, and want to help others get the same understanding of how life is like at Amherst!

Feel free to reach out to me at asibandauwakata29@amherst.edu with any questions!
