Happy finals season! Everyone’s finals season looks different here at Amherst, but here is a glimpse into what mine looks like this semester! As a Community Advisor on campus, I am required to stay until the last day of finals to help with the closing of the residence halls. Knowing this at the beginning of the semester, I knew that I would probably be done with my finals a few days before I would actually get to leave. Spoiler…I was right! Here is what my time has looked like on campus:
Last Week of Classes
For me, the last week of classes was busier for me than actual finals week! I usually have at least one exam during final exam week each semester, but this semester I had all written finals. With this being said, two of my final papers were actually due on the last day of classes, which was Wednesday, December 10th. This left me with one final paper due on the Sunday before final exam week (December 14th) and my last final paper due on the Thursday of final exam week (December 18th). It was on the last day of classes that I made a goal for myself: finish my two remaining finals by Sunday, December 14th and then spend my last five days on campus during final exam week enjoying myself, relaxing, prepping for next semester, and searching for summer internships.

Safe to say I accomplished that goal! I had all my finals submitted by the Sunday before final exam week even began, and I was so excited to spend this week relaxing, organizing, and just enjoying campus.
This Week (Final Exam Week!)
While I have a running to-do list going this week (couldn’t help myself!), I am trying to keep my week on campus low-key. I picked up some extra shifts working at the admissions office as a student office assistant this week, which is helping me feel productive. I also went shopping to get some last minute Christmas gifts for my family members and ate some meals off campus so far. I have been organizing my schedule for next semester, applying to some internships, and watching way more TV than usual. While it is hard knowing that I have to stay on campus when I’m done with all of my finals, it has been both productive and relaxing so far. I also have friends who are still on campus and have final exams until Thursday or Friday, so I am not alone!
Although everyone’s final exam season looks different, I am making the most of mine. I look forward to spending the rest of the week being as productive as I can, taking some time to relax, and venturing off campus a bit.
See you next time!
