After about a month off of school for winter break, it is time for spring semester! I had a fun and restful break, and now it is time to get back into the swing of things to prepare for the spring semester. I have made it a point to set some goals for this semester, and I thought it would be fun to share them with you all! Most of these goals are things that I already do, but I want to make sure I continue them or modify them as we head into the semester. These goals are both academic and social, and I always encourage everyone to make goals for themselves as well!
Stay Organized!
As stated in one of my previous posts, I make a Weekly Assignment Tracker for all of my schoolwork, and I love staying organized. A goal of mine in the spring is to keep being as organized as possible, really utilize my weekly assignment trackers, make lists, and manage my time as effectively as possible. Organization and planning keeps me grounded, and I want to extend this mindset to next semester.

Go Off Campus at Least Once a Week!
Sometimes I find it hard to remember that I can go off of campus whenever I want, so I want to make sure I am taking full advantage of that. Whether this is to go get food, go for a walk, or make plans off campus with friends, I want to make sure I experience everything that the town of Amherst has to offer. I want to keep exploring this semester!
Budget My Mammoth Bucks Each Week!
This academic year, each Amherst student was gifted $100 in Mammoth bucks. These can be used in our cafes on campus, to buy snacks at the school store, etc. I used a lot of my Mammoth bucks at the Frost and Science Center cafe at the beginning of fall semester, which left me with not many to use towards the end. For the spring semester, we are given another $100 to spend. This semester I want to actually spend the time budgeting my Mammoth bucks so that I have enough to last me consistently through the whole semester. Being able to have a nice treat during the week keeps me happy and motivated.
Keep a Consistent Sleep Routine!
While I would like to say that I kept a pretty good sleep schedule and routine last semester, I know that I can do even better this semester. I am a person that needs 8 hours of sleep a night, which I usually get. However, last semester some days I would wake up earlier than others, due to my schedule. This semester, my earliest class is not until 10:05 am, so I want to create a set time each morning to wake up Monday through Friday. This time will probably be 7:30 knowing me and how I like to wake up early, but we will see based on what time I will aim to have breakfast, go to the gym, etc. I want to aim to be consistent and utilize my morning time the best I can.
I plan to hold myself to these goals this semester and start off strong! Most of my goals stem from just wanting to expand practices I have already put in place. I want to make sure that I am pushing myself on campus, while also making sure my other areas of life feel fulfilled as a college student.
See you next time!
